Excited to Join Mastercard as a Technical Intern

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be joining Mastercard as a Technical Intern in January 2024! I’m looking forward to getting started and actually working on real-world projects with a talented team.

I will be based in the Dublin tech hub, and I will be working there for 6 months as part of my university program.

The Buddy System

One of the most exciting aspects of this internship is the Buddy System. While I’m not sure if it’s a company-wide policy, it’s a big part of the intern experience in the Dublin tech hub. Every intern is assigned two buddies: an organizational buddy (a former intern who’s now a full-time employee) and a team buddy (a member of your direct team).

I’m excited to meet my buddies and get to know my team, as I’ve heard great things about how supportive everyone is. While I don’t know yet who my specific buddies will be, the concept of having experienced people around for guidance and support already feels reassuring. I’m sure that they’ll play a big role in helping me settle in and make the most of my time at Mastercard.

Building Relationships

Though I haven't started yet, I’ve already gotten a sense of how welcoming Mastercard is. The idea of collaborating with such talented people, not just within my team but across the company, is something I’m genuinely excited about.

Looking Ahead

I’m excited about the challenges, growth opportunities, and the chance to apply my skills in a real-world setting. Whether it’s through technical projects, social events, or just daily interactions with colleagues, I know this experience will be an incredible stepping stone in my career as a software engineer.
